Anne-Marie's Class
I hope that everyone has had a relaxing holiday after a very busy and productive first term. This term we will be looking at the topic of "Homes and Shelters", as one of the fundamental needs of humans. We will be learning about how houses differ between and within communities, depending on many factors including availability of resources, time, money, weather and climate, family structures, and historical and cultural influences. We will be examining the different materials used to build houses.. with a special focus on the story "The three little pigs". There will be many opportunities for children to design and create shelters using a range of materials. Children will also be writing, drawing and talking about their own homes and what makes them special.
*If you are able to lend our class a copy of the book "The three little pigs" we would appreciate it, as we would like to read and compare as many versions of the story as possible.
*Thank you to all the children who collected Easter wrappers for our house collage. I'm sure you will agree it looks fantastic!
