The School grounds before the BER

Principal's Welcome

At Southern Montessori we aim to know your children well and to nurture a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

We have small, multi-aged classes where children are supported as unique individuals and where independence, self-discipline, mutual respect and a love of learning is consistently fostered throughout the school from Toddlers (2 year olds) to Year 7. It is upon this foundation that teachers, parents and other school community members work cooperatively to advance the unique talents of each child.

As a school espousing the Montessori philosophy, our students, staff, parents and Board are committed to preparing children to play a constructive role in society, using their talents responsibly and working actively towards creating a better, more peaceful world.

Southern Montessori School has a strong sense of community where partnerships between the school and the home are strong. It is this sense of shared purpose which helps develop the secure, caring environment where children thrive and rise to their true potential.

To really get a feel for the school, I invite you to visit when classes are in session to see what we can offer your family. This might be by individual appointment or on a school tour held each term. I look forward to meeting with you.
