Alison’s Class + Aquatics
Aquatics Cycle 3
What a wonderful few days on the beach Year 5’s – 9’s had during Week 8. The teachers at Port Noarlunga Aquatics Centre were bright and enthusiastic for the duration. The children responded well to their advice and instruction and reported back how kind they had been as well as lots of fun.

Term 1 has been lots of fun in our classroom. The students have been working on Forces and Motion, which has included learning about air resistance, friction, magnetism and upthrust.
Some planned activities have been testing air rocket designs and differences in magnetic strength. Lessons have focused on scientific inquiry skills and how to conduct an experiment. Some students have applied skills in their own investigations for example: Ella and Georgie enjoyed finding out if the depth of water affects the strength of magnets. It has been wonderful to see students planning and carrying out experiments independently, furthering their understanding and demonstrating their skills. Well done to all.
With Aquatics, Tennis and small ball games in PE, the children have been very active.
