Dear Community Members
What a busy fortnight it has been! Some of the jobs that have been keeping me busy in the past fortnight include; school tours for prospective enrolling families, preparing AGM reports, meetings with parents, a meeting with a Risk Management team from Kalyra Aged Care, a meeting with a mentor, supporting students with learning and behaviour, liaising with our STEM project manager, meeting with the Board President, meeting with the Leadership Team, preparing for the Education Standards Board Self-Assessment (schools registration process), induction sessions for parent volunteers, creating an advertisement for the local Messenger, preparing for a visit from a Montessori Quality Assurance delegation and a series of professional review meetings with all teaching staff. Oh and we had a little visitor and had to ring the snake catcher.
One of the great things about my role is that no two days are the same – in fact most are quite different and you soon learn to expect the unexpected! It is very sustaining to watch young people growing and learning.
Our AGM is fast approaching – Wednesday 21st March @ 7pm. It is a very important event and I urge you to attend. The meeting is run efficiently, a crèche is offered and the refreshments afterwards offer a great chance to mix and mingle.
This Bulletin includes an excellent article by Michael Grose titled, When kids experience problems at school. He has some very good suggestions that may help navigate through tough times.
