Dear Community Members
Thank you to our Parents and Friends committee and our Middle School students for organising a very successful Disco on 31 August. The ELC and Primary discos were well attended. The dance floor was dazzling and the Cycle 4 DJs did a great job with their music selection and on the mic. I know that the adults who came upstairs enjoyed the opportunity to mix and mingle with some delicious refreshments. I fear the adults will need to move to a larger room next year!
The Staff Learning Day (Show Day) on 7th September was a valuable experience for our educators. The new Digital Technologies Curriculum was the focus for the day which was led by an AISSA consultant. We looked closely at the content of this curriculum, discussed where it will fit in with our teaching and learning and considered how it aligns with Montessori practice. Our teachers thoroughly enjoyed the day and are looking forward to future planning and conversations as a whole staff and within cycle teams. It was not a huge surprise for teachers to realise they already engage with digital technologies as part of their everyday learning.
There is much excitement in the air in relation to the Cycle 3 camp at Ankara near Walkers Flat on the River Murray. They are in for a great experience and I am looking forward to staying overnight on Thursday. Fingers crossed for some lovely Spring weather. http://www.ankaracamp.org.au/
Our process of collaboratively creating a new strategic plan for our school is nearing ‘the pointy end’. The breadth of consultation has been extensive and the drawing together of so many ideas has been a complex process. The project facilitators are moving through the draft process and we will share information with the wider community in due course. Thanks to all for your input.
All the best, Heather & Noel
