Term 3 Round Up from Alison’s class
This term has been really quick and as usual, busy. The students have worked well on mini projects about the first settlers and colonisation of our country. Some students have collaborated on designing a new colony in the event of Global Warming, which was introduced during Science Week.
Our Year 4 students have worked with enthusiasm on learning about the Australian Gold Rush and what it might have been like to live during that time. It brought up discussions about racism during the period and it was wonderful to hear the student’s opinions on the subject, some being horrified by the idea that people were discriminated against.
In Literacy this term, students have worked on play scripts and narrative writing. We have tried hard to write short stories that end with a twist. It has been quite a difficult task, but with effort most students have been successful and shared some of their work in Assembly.
We look forward to Term 4 and in particular, camp and swimming week. Our focus will be on Science and the First Great Story.
