Baby Steps Update
The year is flying past with our youngest members of the Southern Montessori Community. We are busy this term learning about ‘Our Garden’. It gives us a great opportunity to explore a range of elements in nature, from the flowers to the insects. This week the children had the chance to look at the silk worms and watch them munching on their mulberry leaves.
The Baby Steps program is the perfect environment for fostering independence and concentration in very young children. The space is calm and open, with few distractions, allowing children the freedom to move easily around the space and follow their interests. It’s also a valuable time for parents to find out more about the Montessori philosophy and practice and get to know other families at the same stage of their Montessori journey.
Our short song time at the end is always a favourite part of the session, full of songs, bubbles and laughter.
If anyone you know has a baby between 8 to 24 months and are interested in finding out more about our Baby Steps program, Danielle or Janine in the office can send them more details.
