Baby Steps update
Last term was very busy for the youngest members of our Montessori community. In Term 2 we had a focus on Pets. Throughout the term we had some live animals come into the Baby Steps room. We had fish, a turtle, a budgie and a cat. The children showed great care in gently handling the animals. We also learnt some new rhymes and songs relating to each animal. Many of our Baby Steps friends moved up to the Toddler group in the next step of their Montessori journey, and we welcome three new children; Mercy, Paxton and Vida and their families. This term our focus is Colours. We will be exploring all the colours of the rainbow and even trying a range of different coloured foods.
At Baby Steps the children are developing their independence, concentration, physical and social skills. It is a great foundation for their lifelong journey of education. I am always happy to share information on many aspects of the Montessori approach and child development in general. If you would like more information on the Baby Steps program, please see Danielle or Janine in the front office.
