What an amazing and busy term we have had. Our class has had the pleasure of welcoming six Year 4 students – Megan, Carter, Yavany, Denny, Chloe and Ebony. We have really enjoyed the new additions to our class. We have spent a lot of the term discussing growth mindset and ways that we can grow our brain. The students recognise that this isn’t about being smart but more about having the persistence to keep going when something is tough. We talked about not knowing something ‘yet’ and that all people make mistakes, and that is ok. The children interviewed someone that they admire to find out what difficulties they have faced and prepared a 1 minute talk for the class. They really enjoyed finding out that even famous people they admire have made mistakes in their lives.
During week 5 Frank from Labs on Legs came and worked with all the Cycle 3 students. Frank comes with a wealth of knowledge about science and his experiments complemented our work on ‘Forces and Energy’. His passion and energy for science shines through and the children really enjoyed engaging in the tasks that Frank set.
In Week 8 the Year 5 and 6’s went to aquatics at Port Noarlunga. Although a little cold, everyone enjoyed their time and the new experiences. The Year 4’s enjoyed being able to work as a year group and with different teachers.
Week 9 has been tennis week for the Cycle 3’s. The students have enjoyed enhancing their tennis skills.
