We are having a busy, enjoyable term with such a variety of learning activities taking place.
Excursions for Tennis and Aquatics have been highlights, supporting our PE program and exposing the students to new skills and experiences. As is generally the case when we take our students out of the school, the instructors have had high praise for our students and have thoroughly enjoyed working with them. Our students should be proud of the way they carry themselves when involved in these experiences.
We have a strong focus on Kindness throughout the school at the moment, including a focus on Harmony Week. Students have made posters displaying ways they can show kindness and respect to others, and also created superhero personas of ‘Respect Man’ and ‘Respect Woman’ with their ‘cape’ showing ways they respect themselves and others.
Other highlights of the term have been the students’ Quest narratives they have composed, websites they have produced to communicate their understanding of our work in our Earth Science topic in Cultural Studies, and opportunities to work as a cycle on Thursday afternoons to engage in a variety of hands-on activities, including drama, STEM challenges, coding, gardening, art and craft.
It is hard to believe that the first term is nearly over and that we have begun planning more exciting adventures in learning for next term.
