Creative Arts Semester 2
Last term in Creative Arts, students explored Dance as a subject.
The Cycle 2 and 3 students learned a dance, which will be performed at the School Fete later in the term, and also learned about the style of dance called ‘tap’.
Cycle 1 students learned a dance called ‘So Many Animals’ and also produced some artwork related to the Book Week books.
Each class will be performing at the School Fete along with the Glee Club and Choir. A note will be sent out shortly regarding the times that your child will be required to be at the fete. We are all very excited to show you what we have been up to.
This term we are exploring the area of Music. All classes will be learning about basic notation, rhythm and percussion.
In 2017, Southern Montessori School will be entering Wakakirri for the second time. Last year we were very successful in our first effort and all students thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a rewarding and challenging experience and I cannot wait to do it all over again.
The signature item for 2017 is ‘Gift’. The signature item is something that schools can use to influence their story or incorporate within the performance in a subtle way.
While Maria and I have some ideas about what story we should tell, we would really love to have some input from the school community. If you have an idea for a story, please write it down and give it to Maria or myself.
