Grace and Courtesy on Display
Grace and Courtesy lessons help children develop behaviours that promote their positive social and emotional development.
When new families tour our school, they are always impressed by the sense of calm and order in our classrooms. This atmosphere is created by the lessons of “grace and courtesy” and by modelling of appropriate behaviours by teachers and parents. Grace and courtesy is more than just good manners and involves learning to work cooperatively and collaboratively, learning to exercise self-control and being respectful towards others.
On the first day of term, a number of our Cycle 3 students participated in SAPSASA Athletics. It was really pleasing to see how much effort they put in to competing in their events. However, what was even more pleasing to see was how much they supported each other. In fact, not only did they clap their friends and call out encouraging comments as they ran past, but they also clapped the competitors from other schools.
So congratulations to all our students who participated. We are proud of the way you conducted yourselves and represented our school. And, thank you to our parents who were excellent role models and supported the students to be the best that they could be.
